Dad & Daughter Reunited After 27 Years
(April 17) - A father and daughter who spent nearly three decades believing the other was dead are back in each other's arms.
Dirk Pratt last saw his daughter, Francesca, 27 years ago, when her mother took the then toddler on what was supposed to be a quick trip to Ecuador. Pratt said he was told shortly following their departure that Francesca had died after being bit by a mosquito. Francesca was told her father had died in a diving accident but she was never convinced.
The father and daughter credit Google for their amazing reunion. Pratt said he decided to Google himself after seeing a character use the search engine in the Angelina Jolie film 'Wanted.' When he plugged in his own name, Google turned up a message that read, "I am trying to contact Dirk Pratt. I am his daughter."
On Wednesday, Dirk and his daughter, having trumped lies and years of distance thousands of miles long, finally reunited.
